Free Kindle for PC

with 4 comments

Amazon has announced a free Kindle for PC application in one more  move, which will revolutionize the way we consume books. Now you do not need to purchase The Kindle tablet in order to download and read Kindle books.

By offering the free kindle application Amazon has, significantly, lowered the bar for the digital books consumer. It hopes to attract many new Kindle users, who will in turn purchase books from the 400,000 titles already available for the Kindle application.

Is that the start of the end of the printed book? Probably not, but it is certainly an important step in revolutionizing the press industry.

  1. I am really struck by the way that you write, and the subject is excellent. Do you know that certainly the Kindle makes use of the entire qwerty keyboard it has, but merely reading e-books doesn’t require such a thing. Give it a minimal interface, like an iPod – front, back, menu, and maybe one to three other buttons for things like table of contents or something. Put these buttons in a sleek frame around the screen and/or on the side, and just make it a sleek device that’s 99% screen and the size of a trade paperback.Have it interface with your computer to upload books and documents – again, like a simple mp3 player – and keep it at that. Thanks and good day!

    • I agree with you on your Kindle suggestion. What you describe is something between iPhone and the new iPad. You have to get Apple and Amazon together to create the next Kindle.
